Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index displayed a range of movements as trading closed, with significant gains recorded in the financial and biotechnology sectors. Among the leading gainers, Meritz Financial saw a notable increase of 2,200 points, closing at 117,700, whereas Samsung Biologics registered a gain of 18,000 points to close at 1,069,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other financial entities also experienced upward trends, such as BNK Financial Group rising by 510 points to 11,000, and DGB Financial Group increasing by 270 points, closing at 9,140. Meanwhile, Hanwha Vision faced a substantial decline, dropping 3,700 points to close at 59,100.
In the retail and technology sectors, BGF Retail and Netmarble showed positive outcomes, climbing by 1,300 and 400 points to close at 105,600 and 40,500, respectively. However, emart experienced a downturn, dropping by 1,200 points to close at 82,900.
The automotive sector also showed varied results, as Hankook Tire and Technology increased by 350 points, ending at 405,50, while Hyundai Eng and Const advanced by 350 points to 32,950. Conversely, Doosan Robotics saw a decline of 500 points, closing at 61,500.
In other notable performances, Orion surged by 3,300 points to 113,700, and HYBE recorded a significant gain of 6,500 points, closing at 238,500. Conversely, ISU Specialty Chemical and Ecopro Mat experienced declines, with ISU Specialty Chemical dropping 500 points to 54,600 and Ecopro Mat falling by 900 points to 70,700.
