Seoul: Former first lady Kim Keon Hee has filed a request for bail, citing health concerns, as reported by legal sources on Monday. The application was submitted to the Seoul Central District Court earlier in the day.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a date for the bail hearing has not been determined. Kim has been detained since mid-August and is currently undergoing trial for charges related to corruption, interference in candidate nominations for elections, and stock manipulation.
A special counsel team has intensified its investigation into Kim, who is the wife of the ousted President Yoon Suk Yeol.
