LG Innotek Reports 27.1% Surge in Q4 Net Profit Driven by High-End Product Sales

Seoul: LG Innotek Co., an electronic component manufacturing unit under the LG Group, announced a notable 27.1 percent increase in its fourth-quarter net profit, attributing this growth to robust sales of high-end camera modules and semiconductor substrates for mobile devices.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's net profit for the three months ending in December rose to 135.9 billion won (US$94.3 million), up from 106.9 billion won in the same period the previous year. Operating profit experienced a significant boost, jumping 31 percent to 324.8 billion won from 247.9 billion won, while sales climbed 14.8 percent, increasing from 6.6 trillion won to 7.6 trillion won.

Breaking it down by sectors, the optical solution division reported a 15.2 percent on-year increase in sales, reaching 6.65 trillion won. This growth was largely fueled by the heightened export of value-added camera modules to the United States. In contrast, the substrate and material division's sales surged by 27.6 percent to 489.2 billion won, driven by the mass-production of new mobile product models. However, the automotive components division faced challenges, with sales slightly decreasing by 0.1 percent to 474.3 billion won amid sluggish industrial demand.

For the entire year of 2025, the company's net profit saw a decline of 24 percent, falling from 449.27 billion won to 341.26 billion won. Additionally, full-year operating income decreased by 5.8 percent, dropping from 706.04 billion won to 665 billion won, while sales experienced a modest rise of 3.3 percent, increasing from 21.2 trillion won to 21.89 trillion won.

Looking ahead, Chief Financial Officer Kyung Eun-kuk stated that in the coming year, the company aims to maintain a stable flow of profits by enhancing its high-performance product portfolio and expanding the output capacity of semiconductor substrates to meet the rising demand.
