North korea: North Korean state media has embarked on a campaign to glorify leader Kim Jong-un after his recent reelection as the chief of the ruling Workers' Party of Korea (WPK), declaring him the "greatest man in the world" and equating his leadership to a "miracle."
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Rodong Sinmun, the country's most widely circulated newspaper published by the WPK, reported that Kim's reelection has sparked "endless excitement and exaltation" among the populace. This development took place during the ongoing party congress, the first since 2021, which commenced last Thursday to evaluate policies from the previous congress and establish new targets for the next five years.
The Rodong Sinmun article highlighted the significant achievements under Kim's leadership over the past five years, describing them as "great things" that are unparalleled even over several centuries. It praised the country's "absolute defense capability," the "construction boom," and regional development, attributing these accomplishments to Kim's guidance.
The article further mentioned the construction of a new greenhouse farm in Sinuiju, a city in the northwest that experienced severe flooding in 2024. It credited Kim with achieving "three miracles": the rescue of flood-affected residents, the subsequent recovery efforts, and the establishment of the greenhouse farm.
Emphasizing Kim's "people-first" policy, the article portrayed him as a "great mother of all miracles for the people" and lauded him as the "greatest men in the world," highlighting his profound affection for the citizens.
