Lee Nominates Key Figures for Budget and Oceans Ministries

Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung has nominated a four-term lawmaker of the ruling Democratic Party as budget minister and a former senior fisheries official as oceans minister, Cheong Wa Dae announced Monday. Rep. Park Hong-keun has been selected to lead the Ministry of Planning and Budget, while Hwang Jong-woo, who currently serves as a board member of the Korea Ocean Foundation, was nominated to head the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee also appointed Jung Il-yeon, a former judge, as the chief of the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission. Additionally, Song Sang-kyo, a former secretary general of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, has been named to lead the commission.
