Seoul: Global K-pop icon BTS on Wednesday unveiled the 14-song track list of its upcoming album, "Arirang" on their social media platforms. The album features a collection of tracks including "SWIM," "Body to Body," "Hooligan," "Aliens," "FYA," "2.0," "No. 29," "Merry Go Round," "NORMAL," "Like Animals," "they don't know 'bout us," "One More Night," "Please," and "Into the Sun."
According to Yonhap News Agency, the title track "SWIM" is described as an alternative pop song about navigating life's challenges, with lyrics co-written by BTS frontman RM. "Body to Body" celebrates the energy of performing for their fans, while "Hooligan" reflects on BTS's journey and "2.0" provides insight into the members' lives.
The group's label, BigHit Music, revealed that songwriting sessions took place last summer in Los Angeles, involving star producers like Diplo, Ryan Tedder, and El Guincho. "Arirang" marks BTS's fifth studio album and is their first since the 2022 anthology album "Proof."
BigHit described the album as capturing BTS's identity as a group that began in Korea, along with the emotions they seek to portray. The word "Arirang" symbolizes the deep love and longing within their hearts.
To mark their comeback, BTS will hold a live event, "BTS The Comeback Live: Arirang," at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul on March 21. The event, expected to draw a large crowd, will be streamed globally on Netflix.
