Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a decline as several major companies reported decreases in their closing prices. The index, which is a key barometer for the South Korean stock market, reflected a downward trend in various sectors.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Samsung Electronics and A closed at 32,900, showing a decrease of 550. DONGSUH recorded a closing price of 25,150, down by 350. Daesang's stocks also declined, closing at 20,100 with a drop of 550. COSMOCHEM faced a significant decrease, closing at 14,320, down by 1,130.
Hyundai Motor's stock decreased significantly, closing at 507,000, reflecting a drop of 46,000. AMOREPACIFIC Holdings ended the day at 25,900, down by 1,300. POSCO Holdings closed at 336,000, a decrease of 17,500. LotteChilsung and LOTTE saw their stocks fall to 121,300 and 29,850, down by 4,000 and 1,850, respectively.
Other notable declines were seen in GCH Corp, which closed at 13,470, down by 580, and Nongshim, which fell to 386,500, marking a decrease of 8,000. SGBC's stock dropped to 57,900, a decrease of 4,100. Hyundai Steel closed at 36,900, with a fall of 2,850, and Shinsegae witnessed a drop of 21,000, closing at 313,000.
KPIC and ISUPETASYS also reported declines, closing at 121,500 and 103,600, down by 2,300 and 11,000, respectively. GS Retail's stock decreased to 18,460, down by 310, while OTOKI closed at 357,500, a drop of 9,500. MIRAE ASSET SEC ended at 64,200, down by 2,900.
SKC closed at 96,800, reflecting a decrease of 6,800. YoulchonChem's stock fell to 23,700, down by 1,300. HYOSUNG HEAVY recorded a significant drop, closing at 2,389,000, down by 89,000. LG Energy Solution closed at 359,500, marking a decrease of 18,000. Hanmi Science and Samsung Electronics Mech saw declines, closing at 37,200 and 382,000, down by 2,200 and 22,500, respectively.
HtlShilla, Hanssem, and F and F also reported decreases, closing at 40,400, 40,600, and 60,000, down by 1,650, 2,350, and 2,800, respectively. MIWON SC ended the day at 124,600, a decrease of 4,300, while ORION fell slightly to 126,000, down by 500.
HANWHA SYSTEMS was an exception, closing at 162,700 with an increase of 3,800. BGF Retail also saw a slight increase, closing at 115,500, up by 500.
HANJINKAL, SKCHEM, and HS HYOSUNG ADVANCED experienced declines, closing at 114,000, 55,200, and 197,900, down by 9,700, 4,000, and 14,100, respectively. HANILCMT's stock fell to 16,190, down by 450, while SKBS closed at 41,450, a decrease of 2,300. HYOSUNG TNC and HyundaiAutoever reported significant declines, closing at 305,500 and 383,500, down by 21,500 and 25,500, respectively.
