KOSPI 200 Sees Broad Gains as HyundaiMtr and SamyangFood Lead the Surge

Seoul: The KOSPI 200, representing the main Korean Stock Exchange, closed predominantly higher on Tuesday with notable increases across various sectors. HyundaiMtr and SamyangFood were among the significant gainers, contributing to the overall positive momentum.

According to Yonhap News Agency, HyundaiMtr saw an increase of 16,000 KRW, closing at 522,000 KRW, while SamyangFood rose by 44,000 KRW to finish at 1,082,000 KRW. Other substantial gains were recorded by DOOSAN, which climbed by 22,000 KRW to 1,110,000 KRW, and TaekwangInd, which increased by 17,000 KRW to 1,106,000 KRW.

Several other stocks also posted gains, including SeAH Steel Holdings, which rose by 12,400 KRW to 172,000 KRW, and SamsungF and MIns, which increased by 12,500 KRW to 477,500 KRW. KIA CORP. and CJ LOGISTICS also saw impressive rises, closing at 167,300 KRW and 114,400 KRW, respectively.

In contrast, some stocks faced declines. Shinsegae dropped by 4,500 KRW to 344,500 KRW, and SK hynix decreased by 4,000 KRW to settle at 970,000 KRW. POSCO INTERNATIONAL also saw a reduction, ending 1,800 KRW lower at 72,000 KRW.

Overall, the KOSPI 200's performance was marked by a predominance of gains, reflecting positive investor sentiment across multiple sectors in the Korean market.
