Coupang Partners with Nvidia to Build AI Factory

San jose: Coupang Inc. said Wednesday it has established an "AI factory" in collaboration with Nvidia Corp. to accelerate innovation across its logistics and delivery operations. The U.S.-listed e-commerce company announced the outcome of the collaboration at the Nvidia Conference and Expo held in San Jose, California, on Tuesday (U.S. time).

According to Yonhap News Agency, the partnership centers on Coupang's role as a launch partner in Nvidia's planned release of Dynamo 1.0, an open-source software platform for agentic inference designed to deliver high scalability, efficiency and speed, the company said in a press release. Coupang currently deploys artificial intelligence (AI) models to optimize operations, from inventory placement at fulfillment centers to delivery route planning. Its proprietary Coupang Intelligent Cloud (CIC) infrastructure has helped accelerate these processes.

"Coupang's business is centered on fulfilling our 'Rocket Delivery' promise to customers -- providing an unmatched combination of speed, selection and price," said Ashish Suryavanshi, the company's vice president of engineering. "This requires constant innovation. By working with Nvidia, our engineers can build on advanced AI and machine learning technologies already powering our operations and unlock new levels of efficiency and customer experience," he added.

Founded in 2010, Coupang has invested billions of dollars in building an end-to-end technology and logistics infrastructure integrating AI, custom robotics, and other advanced technologies.
