Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a decline today as several major stocks closed lower, reflecting a challenging day in the South Korean stock market. Among the companies that experienced notable decreases, KCC saw a significant drop of 24,000 won, closing at 534,000 won. Mobis also reported a substantial decrease, falling by 17,000 won to settle at 413,000 won.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies experiencing declines included HANWHA AEROSPACE, which decreased by 15,000 won, closing at 1,375,000 won, and KIH which fell by 12,000 won to 229,000 won. Celltrion also faced a downturn, dropping 7,500 won to end the day at 202,000 won. Meanwhile, SamsungE and A closed 700 won lower at 32,600 won.
Despite the overall negative trend, a few companies reported gains. LG Innotek saw an increase of 17,500 won, closing at 286,000 won. CSWIND also rose by 5,800 won, ending at 64,900 won. Additionally, Lotte Shopping experienced an increase of 2,100 won, closing at 107,500 won.
In the financial sector, WooriFinancialGroup and KBFinancialGroup managed modest gains of 100 won and 1,000 won, respectively, closing at 33,600 won and 155,700 won. In contrast, JB Financial Group recorded a decrease of 350 won, finishing at 30,200 won.
The performance of these stocks reflects a mixed day on the KOSPI 200, with significant declines overshadowing the modest gains made by some companies.
