Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index witnessed a significant rise as several major stocks closed with notable gains. The trading session saw Hanwha Engine closing at 44,700, marking an increase of 1,150. HYUNDAIGLOVIS experienced a substantial uptick, ending at 219,000, up by 11,500. Hanwha Life also saw an increase, closing at 4,750, up by 320.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other stocks that performed well included Foosung, which closed at 7,400, up by 380, and Kolon Ind, which saw a rise to 83,000, up by 10,000. HanmiPharm recorded an increase to 553,000, up by 38,000, while Youngone Corp ended at 81,900, up by 3,400. CSWIND closed at 63,700, marking an increase of 4,100, and iM Financial Group rose to 17,180, up by 470. SD Biosensor saw a slight rise, closing at 7,810, up by 160.
Further gains were noted in GKL, which closed at 11,870, up by 370, and emart, ending at 97,000, up by 1,300. Meritz Financial saw an increase to 115,700, up by 4,300, while BNK Financial Group closed at 18,230, up by 340. Doosan Bobcat recorded a rise to 62,600, up by 5,700. APR ended the session at 344,500, marking an increase of 7,500.
In contrast, BGF Retail and MIWON SC experienced declines, closing at 137,600 and 121,400, down by 1,700 and 1,500, respectively. Meanwhile, Netmarble rose to 51,400, up by 2,200, and SKCHEM saw an increase to 54,400, up by 1,800. Orion closed at 131,800, up by 3,800, while KRAFTON rose to 262,000, up by 7,000.
HD Hyundai and HD Hyundai Electric saw significant gains, closing at 247,000 and 902,000, up by 8,000 and 70,000, respectively. TaekwangInd ended at 1,131,000, up by 46,000, and KAL closed at 24,700, up by 1,150. LG Corp. experienced a rise to 87,200, up by 4,400, and POSCO FUTURE M increased to 211,500, up by 8,000.
LOTTE Fine Chem, HYUNDAI STEEL, and Shinsegae also recorded gains, closing at 50,000, 35,700, and 316,500, up by 1,150, 2,050, and 16,000, respectively. Nongshim ended at 379,500, up by 12,500, while HDHMS closed at 187,600, up by 8,000. ECOPRO MAT rose to 72,600, up by 5,600, and Doosan Robotics ended at 84,600, up by 5,100. ISUSPECIALTYCHEMICAL saw an increase to 95,100, up by 5,800.
Lastly, MiwonComcl and Daewoong recorded gains, closing at 136,200 and 24,800, up by 1,400 and 1,500, respectively. HITEJINRO ended at 16,940, up by 220, while CJ LOGISTICS rose to 108,900, up by 5,500.
