S. Korea and U.S. Sign MOU to Boost Shipbuilding Cooperation

Seoul: South Korea and the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance bilateral cooperation in the shipbuilding sector, as announced by the U.S. International Trade Administration.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the MOU was signed between South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources (MOTIR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce. The agreement marks the establishment of the South Korea-U.S. Shipbuilding Partnership Initiative (KUSPI), which aims to foster collaboration in commercial shipbuilding, workforce development, industrial modernization, and maritime manufacturing investment.

KUSPI serves as a platform to further strengthen ties between the two nations in the shipbuilding industry, focusing on mutual growth and development through shared expertise and resources. This initiative is expected to pave the way for significant advancements in technology and infrastructure within the maritime sector of both countries.
