Seoul: South Korea's science ministry, along with other government institutions, organized a working-level workshop on Monday to address cybersecurity issues associated with artificial intelligence (AI) in collaboration with OpenAI.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Sasha Baker, the head of national security policy for Chat GPT, presented cybersecurity-related features of OpenAI's latest AI models. She discussed potential areas for collaboration in the field, as highlighted in a release by the Ministry of Science and ICT.
Baker also introduced the Trusted Access for Cyber (TAC) program by OpenAI, which provides verified access to its AI models for companies in essential sectors such as finance and public services. The science ministry expressed its desire for OpenAI's cooperation in sharing information to tackle the continuously evolving cybersecurity threats linked to AI. The ministry emphasized that both parties agreed to maintain working-level conversations aimed at leveraging AI for enhancing digital safety.
The workshop was attended by officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Intelligence Service, and the Financial Services Commission, as reported by the science ministry.
