This missile launch comes amid speculations of a potential visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to North Korea. The Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea detected the missile activity from the Jongju area of North Pyongan Province, marking the eighth such launch by North Korea this year.

This appeal came shortly after Pyongyang's latest display of missile activity. Meanwhile, the unification ministry has taken steps to foster better public understanding of North Korean media by releasing an online documentary series. The series, titled "Reading Rodong Sinmun," is part of a governmental initiative to improve access to North Korean media content and is available on the ministry's official YouTube channel. The first episode of the five-part series has been released, with subsequent episodes to follow in the coming weeks.
