Pangyo: Kakao Corp.'s labor union stated on Monday that it will initiate a partial walkout next week following unsuccessful wage negotiations mediated by the government last month. The unionized members disclosed this plan in an official statement, emphasizing their aim to secure employment stability and reform the company's compensation structure. They criticized the current system for allowing Kakao's executives to "monopolize excessive rewards."
According to Yonhap News Agency, the union expressed its intention to escalate the scale of the strike based on the outcomes of future negotiations. The planned collective action includes a four-hour strike scheduled for next Wednesday. During this time, union members will also conduct a march near Kakao Corp.'s headquarters located in Pangyo, Gyeonggi Province, south of Seoul.
