Seoul: Nvidia Corp. Chief Executive Officer Jensen Huang met with the leaders of South Korea's top gaming firms to explore collaboration opportunities beyond gaming, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI). Huang's South Korean visit, spanning four days, included meetings with key figures from Krafton and NCSOFT.
According to Yonhap News Agency, on the third day of his visit, Huang toured internet cafes in southern Seoul and held separate discussions with Krafton Executive Director Chang Byung-gyu and NCSOFT CEO Kim Taek-jin. Huang and Kim briefly addressed fans at a venue, generating excitement with references to NCSOFT's upcoming game, Aion 2. NCSOFT also hosted a user event where developers shared updates and future plans for the game.
Before visiting NCSOFT, Huang met with Krafon's chief AI officer, Lee Kang-wook, and the head of the company's popular game, PUBG: Battlegrounds. Discussions reportedly focused on potential cooperation using Nvidia's RTX Spark platform for premium Windows laptops and physical AI technologies. Krafton recently established Ludo Robotics, a subsidiary aimed at AI-driven robotics.
Since his arrival in South Korea, Huang has actively engaged with the local gaming community, underscoring Nvidia's interest in gaming and AI sectors. His visit included a meeting with the T1 e-sports team and dining with Hyundai Motor Group's Euisun Chung.
In a ceremonial role, Huang threw the first pitch at a Doosan Bears baseball game, highlighting Nvidia's partnership with Doosan Group in AI and robotics. Following the game, he participated in a "chimaek meeting" with SK Group executives, including SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung. SK hynix supplies high-bandwidth memory essential for Nvidia's graphics processing units, powering generative AI systems.
