Jensen Huang Throws Ceremonial Pitch at KBO Game in Seoul

Seoul: Nvidia Corp. CEO Jensen Huang tossed the ceremonial first pitch before a Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) game between the Doosan Bears and the Kiwoom Heroes at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul on Sunday. This event marked one of the highlights of Huang's brief yet eventful visit to South Korea.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Huang donned a Bears jersey featuring No. 93, symbolizing Nvidia's founding year, while Doosan Group Chairman Park Jeong-won, owner of the Bears, stood in the batter's box in a No. 96 jersey, representing the group's founding year. Before making his pitch, Huang addressed the fans, expressing gratitude for their warm reception and noting the longstanding partnership between Nvidia and Korea's technology and gaming industries. He humorously mentioned his intent to enjoy Korean fried chicken, a popular local delicacy known as chimaek.

During his visit, which began on Friday, Huang engaged with esports personalities, business leaders, and gaming industry figures. He has previously thrown ceremonial pitches in both Taiwan and the United States. The Doosan Bears honored Huang and approximately 200 Nvidia employees with a welcome banner and gifts. Despite his pitch missing its mark, Huang lightheartedly criticized his performance and shared details of his pregame conversation with Park, focusing on baseball and the Bears' successful season.

Huang also commented on South Korea's advancements in robotics, attributing it to the country's strengths in software, AI, and manufacturing. After the game, Huang departed to enjoy a fried chicken dinner with SK Group Chairman Chey Tae-won. Throughout the event, Huang actively engaged with fans, signing autographs and distributing 10 signed baseballs, further enhancing the memorable experience for attendees.
