Seoul: The Korea Exchange, South Korea's main bourse operator, has announced a delay in the listing of weekly options on four major stocks. These stocks include Samsung Electronics Co., SK hynix Inc., Hyundai Motor Co., and LG Energy Solution Ltd., which were initially scheduled for listing next Monday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the decision to postpone comes as a response to current market conditions. The bourse operator emphasized the need to assess these conditions along with necessary preparations before proceeding with the launch. The Korea Exchange remains committed to introducing the weekly options once the market environment is deemed suitable.
Earlier in the week, Lee Chan-jin, governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, expressed concerns over potential impacts on stock market volatility due to the introduction of single-stock leveraged exchange-traded funds.
