Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index saw a mix of gains and losses as Samsung Life and Korea Zinc emerged as notable gainers, while HDKSOE and Hanwha Aerospace experienced significant declines. At the close of the trading session, Samsung Life rose by 14,000 to 447,000, marking it as one of the top performers. Korea Zinc also posted a substantial gain, climbing 12,000 to reach 1,110,000.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other companies that experienced increases include Hanssem, which rose by 450 to 32,450, and F and F, climbing 800 to 74,300. The transportation and logistics firm YoungoneHoldings also saw a significant increase, with its stock price surging by 9,000 to 170,000. Mobis and KEPCO rounded out the list of gainers, with increases of 4,000 and 2,050 respectively.
On the downside, HDKSOE saw a decline of 2,000, dropping its stock price to 366,000. Hanwha Aerospace experienced a larger drop, falling 25,000 to 1,069,000. Other companies that saw declines include LS Electric, down 5,500 to 219,000, and S-Oil, which decreased by 9,100 to 98,200. Major declines were also recorded by Lotte Shopping, which fell 3,700 to 170,600, and Hyundai WIA, dropping 2,000 to 62,900.
Overall, the market presented a varied landscape with sectors such as finance and materials witnessing gains, while other sectors like industrials and chemicals faced declines. The fluctuations in stock prices reflect the ongoing adjustments and investor sentiments in the market.
