Yongin: Hyundai Motor Co. announced its plan to inaugurate a cutting-edge vehicle service center in Gyeonggi Province this week, featuring automated maintenance systems aimed at enhancing service efficiency and diagnostic capabilities.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Suwon Hi-Tech Center is situated in Yongin, just south of Seoul, encompassing 51,497 square meters of total floor space spread across two basement levels and five above-ground floors. Hyundai Motor conducted an opening ceremony at the facility a day before its official launch set for Wednesday.
The center marks Hyundai Motor's first facility to integrate a smart mobility-based automated maintenance system, which is designed to boost servicing efficiency and minimize customer waiting times. For automating parts logistics, the facility utilizes autonomous mobile robots, guided vehicles, and case robots, while an unmanned vehicle lift system is employed to transport vehicles to maintenance bays.
Hyundai's remote diagnosis service platform plays a crucial role by analyzing vehicle data before customers arrive, enabling technicians to be well-prepared for repairs in advance. The center also enhances Hyundai's data-driven diagnostic capabilities by operating a lab for data and noise, vibration, and harshness analysis to identify vehicle defects. Moreover, a joint quality analysis center is established for real-time collaboration with the company's research and development center and headquarters.
