Beijing: North Korean Premier Pak Thae-song arrived in Beijing to attend an event marking the 65th anniversary of the signing of a friendship treaty between North Korea and China, as reported by China's Xinhua News Agency.
According to Yonhap News Agency, a North Korean party and government delegation, led by Pak, is visiting China until Sunday at the invitation of China's Communist Party. The visit aims to commemorate the treaty anniversary, highlighting the historical ties between the two nations.
The Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance was originally signed on July 11, 1961, by North Korea's founder and former leader Kim Il-sung and then Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai. This treaty has been a cornerstone in the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
