Seoul: Doosan Corp. on Monday reported a second-quarter net profit of 535.6 billion won (US$364.5 million), marking an impressive increase of 129.7 percent compared to the same period from the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the power plant, energy, and heavy industry corporation disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating income for the April-June period rose by 37.8 percent year-on-year, reaching 488.4 billion won. Additionally, the company experienced a 5 percent growth in revenue, amounting to 5.58 trillion won.
The operating profit exceeded the average estimate by 8.5 percent, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency. However, an estimate for the net profit was not provided.
