Seoul: KCC Corp. on Wednesday reported a second-quarter net income of 2.83 trillion won (US$2 billion), marking an increase of 217.8 percent from the same period last year. The chemical and automotive company shared these figures in a regulatory filing, highlighting a notable rise in net income despite other financial challenges during the quarter.
According to Yonhap News Agency, KCC Corp.'s operating profit for the April-June period saw a decrease of 13.1 percent on-year, amounting to 128.9 billion won. Despite this decline in operating profit, the company's sales grew by 7.2 percent, reaching 1.8 trillion won. This indicates a growth in revenue, which contributed to the significant rise in net income for the quarter.
