Lee Calls for Unity in Meeting with Newly Elected Democratic Party Leadership

Seoul: President Lee Jae Myung on Tuesday urged the newly elected leadership of the ruling Democratic Party (DP) to foster unity among its members, as reported by Cheong Wa Dae. Lee emphasized the importance of cohesion within the party during a dinner meeting with the new DP leader Kim Min-seok and other recently elected officials.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Lee appealed to the DP members to set aside their minor differences and dedicate themselves to building a prosperous Republic of Korea, which the citizens have entrusted to the party. His comments were made against the backdrop of ongoing tensions that emerged during the leadership race, particularly between his supporters and those of former DP leader Jung Chung-rae.

In addition, Lee urged the new leadership to extend policy support to both the government and the presidential office. He highlighted that close cooperation among these entities could lead to significant and tangible improvements for the people.
