Seoul: The latest album from K-pop boy group Enhypen has debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. Billboard's main albums chart, earning the group its first chart-topper. Billboard announced in its preview of this week's chart that "The Sin: Bliss," the band's eighth EP, secured the top position on the Billboard 200. It surpassed Ella Langley's "Dandelion" and Olivia Rodrigo's "you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love."
According to Yonhap News Agency, this achievement marks the first time Enhypen has reached No. 1 since their debut in November 2020. Prior to Enhypen's success, other K-pop boy groups such as BTS, SuperM, Stray Kids, Ateez, and Tomorrow X Together had also attained the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200. Among girl groups, BLACKPINK, NewJeans, TWICE, and Katseye have previously claimed the honor, alongside the original soundtrack album for Netflix's "KPop Demon Hunters."
"The Sin: Bliss" is Enhypen's seventh album to reach the top 10 since 2022. The group had previously peaked at No. 2 twice, with "The Sin: Vanish" and "Romance: Untold" in January and 2024, respectively. The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums in the United States, based on equivalent album units that include physical and digital sales, streaming, and digital track downloads converted into album sales.
Enhypen's "The Sin: Bliss" earned 98,000 equivalent album units, with 92,000 attributed to album sales, as reported by Billboard. Released on August 21, "The Sin: Bliss" is the group's first album as a six-member act following former member Heeseung's departure. The EP has surpassed 2.02 million copies in cumulative sales, achieving double-million seller status.
"The Sin: Bliss" is part of Enhypen's "The Sin" album series, which explores themes of sin as its central motif. The album narrates the journey of two lovers who break a taboo and flee, featuring the lead single "Bloody Paradise" and the B-side "Two Fools."
In other chart news, U.S. country music icon Dolly Parton's "Ultimate Dolly Parton" greatest hits collection reentered at No. 5 following her passing. Meanwhile, K-pop girl group Katseye's "Wild" dropped five places from its previous No. 1 position, and Stray Kids' "This and That" fell to No. 8 from No. 3.
