Seoul: The KOSPI 200 index experienced a day of noticeable gains as several companies saw their stock prices rise. KEPCO EandC emerged as the biggest winner of the day, with its share price increasing by 14,700 to close at 122,300.
According to Yonhap News Agency, other significant gainers included Samsung Electronics, which saw its stock price rise by 14,500 to close at 270,000, and Shinsegae, which climbed by 14,000 to reach 396,500. LG Corp. also posted a strong performance, with its share price increasing by 3,400 to end at 124,500.
Noteworthy rises were also recorded for DB HiTek, which surged by 10,900 to 100,800, and Hanwha, which saw an increase of 1,600 to close at 139,000. Meanwhile, Mobis experienced a rise of 10,000, closing at 432,000.
On the other hand, some companies faced downward trends. Samyang Food experienced a significant drop, with its share price falling by 87,000 to close at 1,330,000. Nongshim's shares decreased by 15,000 to end at 415,000, and Hanwha Aerospace fell by 16,000 to 1,039,000.
Overall, the KOSPI 200 index showed a mixed performance, with notable gains in several sectors contributing to the market's positive movement.
