Seoul: Science Minister Bae Kyung-hoon expressed his ambition at a ministerial meeting on Monday to forge expanded partnerships that leverage the strengths of South Korea and Central Asia in the realms of artificial intelligence (AI) and science technologies. The meeting marked a historic first as it convened science and AI ministers from five Central Asian countries, including Kazakhstan, alongside South Korean officials during the inaugural South Korea-Central Asia summit.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the gathering also featured a presentation by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI), which unveiled its plans to broaden climate technology demonstration projects through the Global Climate Technology Facilitation Fund. The GGGI has committed to working with the five Central Asian nations to advance the demonstration and commercialization of climate technologies. Furthermore, the institute aims to assist in identifying and planning specific projects that align with regional needs.
The collaborative efforts between South Korea and Central Asia are poised to bolster innovation and implementation in the fields of AI and climate technology, paving the way for sustainable development and technological advancement across the regions.
