Seoul: The Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) hosted its inaugural investment forum in Seoul, marking a significant milestone with the signing of multiple agreements with South Korean companies across sectors such as digital assets and gaming, according to the science ministry.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Abu Dhabi Investment Forum Seoul 2026, also known as ADIF Seoul, is part of a broader initiative by the ADIO to host a series of investment forums in key global cities. This event is orchestrated by the ADIO, a government entity from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), dedicated to attracting foreign investment. This year is notable as it is the first instance of the Middle Eastern organization conducting the forum in Seoul.
The science ministry reported that significant South Korean companies, including Hanwha Life Insurance Co. and Kakao Games Corp., have signed memorandums of understanding during the event. This development signals a strategic move towards fostering closer economic ties between the UAE and South Korea.
Second Vice Science Minister Ryu Je-myung was also in attendance at the forum. He highlighted South Korea's openness to collaborate with the UAE in investment and industry, particularly in the digital and advanced technology sectors, as noted by the ministry. This collaboration is seen as a step towards strengthening bilateral relations and exploring new opportunities in emergent sectors.
