U.S. Embassy Launches Korea-U.S. Alliance Campaign on High-Speed Rail Network

Seoul: The U.S. Embassy in South Korea has announced plans to launch an advertisement campaign on the country's high-speed rail network to promote the South Korea-U.S. alliance. This initiative is part of the celebrations marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence, according to officials.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the advertisement will feature a 30-second video that will be shown for one month on both KTX and SRT trains. The video carries the tagline "Two Souls, One Story" and emphasizes the shared history and strengths of the two nations. It showcases a series of parallel images, such as the Statue of Liberty in New York alongside a statue of King Sejong from the Joseon Dynasty, and a U.S. space launch paired with a South Korean ship navigating through waves.

The video concludes with the message, "Let's open the next 250 years together," signifying a continued partnership between the two countries. The new U.S. ambassador to South Korea, Michelle Steel, highlighted the alliance's importance in an op-ed sent to Yonhap News Agency. She described the U.S.-ROK alliance as a critical factor for peace, security, and prosperity in Northeast Asia and the broader Indo-Pacific region.

Steel emphasized the robust economic ties, combined defense strategies, and enduring friendship between the peoples of the two nations as foundational elements of this partnership. She noted that these elements contribute to regional stability and serve the interests of both countries.
