Egyptian President to Visit South Korea for Summit

Seoul:Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi is set to make a state visit to South Korea this week, where he will engage in a summit with President Lee Jae Myung to discuss economic and international issues.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President El-Sisi will arrive in South Korea on Wednesday at the invitation of President Lee. The two leaders are scheduled to meet on Thursday during El-Sisi's three-day visit.

The summit will focus on in-depth discussions regarding economic cooperation, including trade and investment, infrastructure, and supply chain matters. Additionally, they will address expanding people-to-people exchanges, regional political situations, and international issues.

This visit marks President El-Sisi's first trip to South Korea since 2016. The two leaders last met in November during President Lee's visit to Egypt.

Presidential spokesperson Kang Yu-jung highlighted the significance of the visit, stating that it is expected to enhance South Korea-Egypt relations into a strategic partnership, further strengthening South Korea's cooperation with Africa and the Middle East.
