Brig. Gen. Robert Brown Takes Command of U.S. 2nd Infantry Division

Pyeongtaek:U.S. Brig. Gen. Robert Brown has taken over as the new commanding general of the 2nd Infantry Division/South Korea-U.S. Combined Division, a U.S. Army unit stationed in South Korea.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the assumption of command ceremony occurred at Camp Humphreys, located approximately 60 kilometers south of Seoul. Brig. Gen. Brown succeeded Brig. Gen. Jason Rosenstrauch, who had been serving as the acting commanding general since July 24.

Lt. Gen. Joseph Hilbert, commanding general of the U.S. Eighth Army, expressed his confidence in Brown's leadership capabilities, citing his experience, drive, and warrior spirit as key attributes for advancing the division's mission. Brown, referred to by his nickname, Todd, acknowledged the significance of the U.S.-South Korea alliance and described his new role as the honor of a lifetime.

The 2nd Infantry Division/South Korea-U.S. Combined Division remains the last permanently forward-stationed division in the U.S. Army, as noted on its official website.
