Seoul:LG Electronics has reported an estimated operating profit of 781.8 billion won (US$583.8 million) for the third quarter, marking a 13.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the South Korean consumer electronics giant also announced an 8.9 percent rise in sales, reaching 23.82 trillion won. However, the company did not disclose net income figures for this period.
Despite the positive growth in operating profit, the figure was 17.0 percent below the average forecast, as determined by a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data division of Yonhap News Agency. LG Electronics is expected to publish its final earnings report soon.
