Sanaa:South Korea stayed at No. 32 in the latest FIFA rankings, following their recent performances in four international friendlies under the guidance of temporary head coach Robert Moreno.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the rankings were released by FIFA after the international match window from September 21 to October 6, during which teams could participate in up to four games. South Korea, hosting all their matches, secured two victories, one draw, and suffered one defeat during this period.
In Moreno's debut as caretaker manager, South Korea achieved a 3-0 victory against Ecuador on September 24 but faced a 4-1 defeat to Uruguay four days later. The team then played to a goalless draw with Venezuela last Friday, leading defender Kim Min-jae to publicly criticize his teammates for their lack of effort. South Korea concluded their series with a 2-0 win over Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
In the Asian Football Confederation, South Korea remains the fourth-ranked team, following Japan at 17th, Iran at 23rd, and Australia at 26th. FIFA plans to update the rankings next after the November 9-17 match window. On the global stage, Spain continues to hold the top spot, with Portugal moving up to fifth and Brazil dropping to sixth.
