Lee Highlights U.S. Alliance Amid Diplomatic Tensions

Seoul:President Lee Jae Myung emphasized the significance of South Korea's alliance with the United States during a Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. He acknowledged that differences can sometimes arise between countries.

According to Yonhap News Agency, President Lee asserted that diplomatic efforts should prioritize national interests and advised against adopting a submissive approach in international relations.

These comments come as South Korea is experiencing restrictions on intelligence sharing from Washington. The restrictions reportedly follow remarks by the South Korean unification minister, who identified North Korea's Kusong as a location with a uranium enrichment facility. Washington has objected to this as a unilateral disclosure of U.S.-shared intelligence.
