Seoul:The KOSPI 200 index saw significant declines with numerous companies closing lower. Among the most notable decreases, Hankook Tire and Technology fell to 62,600, down by 2,000, while Krafton closed at 196,700, marking a drop of 4,300.
According to Yonhap News Agency, HD Hyundai and HD Hyundai Electric experienced substantial downturns, closing at 148,700 and 487,500, respectively, with the former down by 10,700 and the latter by 37,500. Other major companies such as Samsung Biologics and Hyundai Autoever also recorded declines of 36,000 and 23,500, respectively.
In contrast, only a few companies reported positive movements. MIWON SC and ORION were among the exceptions, with MIWON SC up by 1,000 to 131,800, and ORION increasing by 2,200 to close at 112,100. Meanwhile, significant declines were observed in other stocks like COSMAX and HYOSUNG TNC, which fell by 14,000 each, closing at 270,500 and 262,000, respectively.
The closing prices reflect a broad trend of declines across various sectors, with prominent financial groups and technology companies also showing negative performances. Meritz Financial and BNK Financial Group ended the session at 129,300 and 14,390, respectively, both experiencing downturns.
