Seoul:The government has announced plans to promote pay transparency in job advertisements, eliminate illegal street structures, and address the misrepresentation of imported goods as part of its "nation normalization project," officials revealed on Tuesday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the prime minister's office has unveiled a second set of 30 tasks aimed at rectifying abnormal practices and deep-rooted illegal activities. This initiative follows President Lee Jae Myung's directive in March to improve citizens' daily lives by correcting systemic issues.
The initial batch of 164 tasks identified by the government includes measures such as adjusting speed limits in school zones, standardizing beach umbrella fees, improving management systems for studio apartments, and banning the illegal use of government-issued Onnuri gift certificates.
The newly announced 30 tasks were chosen from approximately 200 suggestions, focusing on addressing public grievances. These include preventing local council members from taking unnecessary trips, combating corruption in construction bidding, and preventing domestic violence offenders from misusing legal processes to locate victims.
Additional tasks involve expanding nondisclosure agreements to prevent tech theft, allowing "white hackers" to report security vulnerabilities, and enhancing consumer protection responsibilities for platforms. Lim Ki-keun, the minister for government policy coordination, emphasized the government's commitment to identifying and addressing long-standing unreasonable practices.
