Kim Do-yeong’s Grand Slam Secures MVP Title in KBO Postseason Series

Seoul:With a commanding performance, Kia Tigers' star slugger Kim Do-yeong delivered a grand slam to lead his team to a decisive 13-1 victory over the LG Twins in Game 3 of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) postseason series. This win completed a three-game sweep for the Tigers in the best-of-five series.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Kim's grand slam capped a seven-run second inning, solidifying his reputation as a clutch performer. His outstanding performance earned him the series MVP title, receiving 84 out of 97 votes. During the series, Kim amassed three home runs and eight RBIs over three games.

The Tigers had already taken a 3-0 lead when Kim stepped up in the second inning. The Twins' starting pitcher, Carlos Carrasco, struggled, loading the bases before Kim's grand slam extended the Tigers' lead. This homer, measured at 145 meters, tied the record for the longest postseason home run since 2000 and made Kim the youngest player to hit a grand slam in a KBO postseason game.

Despite not recording a hit for the rest of the game, Kim's contribution was pivotal. In the regular season, Kim led with 45 home runs and was instrumental in securing the third seed for the Tigers. He continues to be a strong contender for this year's MVP award. The Tigers are now three wins away from returning to the Korean Series.
