Seoul:Samsung E&A Co. announced on Thursday a significant increase in its third-quarter net profit, reaching 216.7 billion won (US$163.2 million), which marks a 37.7 percent rise compared to the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the company's operating profit for the July-September period surged by 183.6 percent on-year, totaling 500.6 billion won. Additionally, sales for the engineering and construction division of the South Korean conglomerate Samsung Group grew by 45.8 percent, reaching 2.91 trillion won.
These financial results exceeded market expectations, as analysts had projected an average net profit of 206.4 billion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data firm of Yonhap News Agency.
