Seoul:Hana Financial Group, a leading banking group in South Korea, announced a third-quarter net profit of 1.26 trillion won (US$951.1 million), marking an 11 percent increase compared to the previous year.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the group, which includes Hana Bank as its flagship entity, disclosed in a regulatory filing that its operating profit for the quarter reached 1.63 trillion won. This figure represents an increase from 1.47 trillion won recorded in the same period last year, while revenue surged by 83.6 percent to 19.99 trillion won.
The reported earnings surpassed market expectations, with analysts' average net profit estimate standing at 1.2 trillion won, based on a survey conducted by Yonhap Infomax, the financial data division of Yonhap News Agency.
