Lions Pitcher Yang Chang-seop Eyes Starting Role in Korean Series

Seoul:Samsung Lions pitcher Yang Chang-seop is hopeful for his first start in the Korean Series after making a strong bullpen appearance in the opening game against the KT Wiz. Despite not pitching since October 12, Yang managed 1 2/3 scoreless innings with two strikeouts, although he issued four walks as the Lions fell 8-7.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Yang's manager, Park Jin-man, is considering him for a starting role in the upcoming Game 5, following the decision to remove Choi Won-tae from the rotation. Yang expressed his excitement for the potential opportunity, recalling his desire to play in the Korean Series since his youth.

Yang's season has seen contrasting halves. He began with an impressive 7-0 record and a 4.26 ERA but struggled in the latter part, resulting in a bullpen assignment. He credits mental challenges for the dip in performance and aims to use this experience to improve his future outings.
