Seoul: North Korea has fired an unspecified ballistic missile towards the East Sea, as reported by the South Korean military. The incident, which took place on Sunday, was confirmed by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) in South Korea. Detailed information regarding the launch was not provided by the JCS.

According to Yonhap News Agency, this development comes just two days after South Korea's First Deputy National Security Adviser, Kim Tae-hyo, indicated the possibility of North Korea testing an intercontinental ballistic missile within the current month. The last recorded attempt by North Korea to launch a ballistic missile was on November 22, a launch that was reportedly unsuccessful, according to the JCS.
