SEOUL — The Bank of Korea (BOK) and Bank Indonesia have solidified their commitment to enhancing financial cooperation by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU) this Monday, focusing on the advancement of cross-border payment systems. This agreement builds on the 2022 bilateral cooperation agreement between the two nations' central banks.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the MOU aims to establish a robust framework for cross-border payment connectivity, which is expected to streamline and improve the efficiency of financial transactions between Indonesia and South Korea. The collaboration is poised to support the growing digital economy and the tourism sector in both countries, with an emphasis on creating payment solutions that are faster, cheaper, more inclusive, and transparent.
