BLACKPINK Renews Contract with YG Entertainment for Group Activities

SEOUL - Popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK has renewed its contract with YG Entertainment for group activities, the company announced on Wednesday. This renewal marks a continuation of the successful partnership between the renowned K-pop act and the entertainment agency.

According to Yonhap News Agency, the board has resolved to renew contracts with all four members of BLACKPINK—Rose, Lisa, Jisoo, and Jennie. The group, which debuted in 2016, had their initial seven-year contracts with YG expiring in August, leading to negotiations for an extension. "After thorough discussions, we have renewed the contracts with BLACKPINK members for their group activities based on deep trust," YG stated.

With this renewal, YG Entertainment will continue managing BLACKPINK's music releases, concerts, and promotional activities. Yang Hyun-suk, the founder and former head of YG, expressed his satisfaction with the ongoing relationship with BLACKPINK, emphasizing the company's commitment to supporting the group's further success in the global music market.

Regarding individual activities of the group members, YG mentioned that negotiations are still ongoing.
