Basel: Bank of Korea (BOK) Governor Shin Hyun-song is set to travel to Switzerland this week to participate in the general meeting of the Bank for International Settlements (BIS), as announced by his office on Wednesday. Shin's itinerary includes his departure for Basel on Thursday to engage in the BIS annual general assembly and associated meetings scheduled for the weekend.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Governor Shin will also attend the European Central Bank (ECB) Forum on Central Banking, commonly referred to as the Sintra Forum, scheduled for next Wednesday in Sintra, Portugal. During a session at the Sintra Forum, Shin is expected to present a paper titled "A Unified Ledger in Practice: Lessons from Project Hangang" and engage in discussions on money and settlement issues with other participants.
