BTS Member Suga Begins Military Boot Camp Training as Part of Alternative Service

NONSAN — Suga, a member of the globally acclaimed K-pop group BTS, started his basic military training on Thursday as part of his alternative service duties in South Korea. BigHit Music, the group's agency, announced that the rapper, born Min Yoon-gi, entered a boot camp in Nonsan, continuing his role as a social service agent after completing the three-week training.

According to Yonhap News Agency, This step is a mandatory part of South Korea's conscription system, which requires all eligible men to fulfill military service obligations. Suga's participation in the alternative service program, which began in September, is scheduled to conclude in June 2025, following the country's requirement for military service among its male citizens.
