Seoul: "Swim," the lead track from BTS' fifth studio album, "Arirang," has secured the No. 5 position on the U.S. Billboard's main singles chart. The upbeat alternative pop track experienced a decline, falling three spots from its previous standing on the Billboard Hot 100 for the week of April 18, as indicated by a Billboard preview released on Monday (U.S. time).
According to Yonhap News Agency, despite the shift in the singles chart, "Swim" maintained its dominance in digital song sales for the third consecutive week, achieving 24,000 downloads sold. Meanwhile, the album "Arirang" continues its strong performance by ruling the Billboard 200 albums chart for three consecutive weeks, marking a historic achievement for a K-pop act.
"Arirang" delves into the identity of BTS, a group originating from Korea, and the universal emotions its members have encountered throughout their lives. "Swim" is a vibrant alternative pop song that reflects on life's challenges, featuring lyrics co-written by RM, the group's front man.
Last weekend, BTS commenced a world tour at Goyang Stadium, located just northwest of Seoul. This tour is anticipated to be the largest concert tour in K-pop history.
