China’s Xi Congratulates Kim Jong-un on Reelection to Top North Korean Post

Beijing: Chinese President Xi Jinping extended congratulations to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un on his reelection as president of the state affairs commission, as reported by a Chinese news outlet. Xi's message followed Kim's election to the position for a third successive term during the inaugural session of the newly constituted 15th Supreme People's Assembly held earlier this week.

According to Yonhap News Agency, Xi Jinping emphasized the importance of the diplomatic relationship between China and North Korea, describing it as "a valuable asset." He reaffirmed China's steadfast policy to enhance bilateral ties. Xi expressed his commitment to work alongside Kim to further the traditional friendship between the two nations, aiming to yield greater benefits for both countries and their citizens. The report from Xinhua News Agency highlighted these sentiments shared by Xi.
