SEOUL: A Chinese citizen has been sentenced to 18 months in prison for secretly recording over 230 motel guests in Seoul, as determined by an appeals trial on Thursday.
According to Yonhap News Agency, the Seoul Central District Court moderated the original two-year sentence after acknowledging that the defendant had settled with all victims and had no prior criminal record in South Korea. The covert recordings, which captured guests in private moments, were conducted in multiple motels across the Gwanak district between April and September of the previous year.
