Cold Wave Hits South Korea with Snow and Sleet Forecast

Seoul: South Korea is set to experience a cold wave on Monday, with freezing temperatures and varying weather conditions across its 12 major cities. The forecast predicts a mix of cloudy skies, snow, and sleet, affecting daily life as residents brace for the cold.



According to Yonhap News Agency, Seoul will see temperatures ranging from a high of 2°C to a low of -8°C, under cloudy skies with no rain expected. Incheon will mirror Seoul’s cloudy conditions with slightly lower temperatures, reaching a high of 1°C and a low of -7°C. Suwon is expected to experience snow with temperatures between 2°C and -10°C, though the probability of precipitation remains at 0%.



Cheongju and Daejeon are projected to have snowy and cloudy weather, respectively, with both cities having a 20% chance of rain. Cheongju will see temperatures from 3°C to -7°C, while Daejeon will experience a high of 5°C and a low of -9°C. In Chuncheon, sunny conditions are forecasted with temperatures from 2°C to -14°C and a 30% chance of rain.



Gangneung will enjoy sunny weather with temperatures between 4°C and -5°C, while Jeonju and Gwangju are likely to see snow with a 20% chance of rain. Jeonju’s temperatures will range from 3°C to -6°C, and Gwangju will experience a high of 4°C and a low of -4°C.



Jeju, known for its milder climate, will encounter sleet with temperatures ranging from 6°C to 2°C and a 10% chance of rain. Meanwhile, Daegu and Busan will both experience sunny weather with temperatures of 5°C to -5°C and 7°C to -3°C, respectively, and minimal chances of rain.
