Seoul: The Constitutional Court on Thursday upheld the impeachment of police chief Cho Ji-ho due to his involvement in former President Yoon Suk Yeol's brief imposition of martial law.
According to Yonhap News Agency, Cho, who served as the commissioner general of the National Police Agency, was immediately removed from office following the court's decision. This ruling comes a year after Cho was impeached by the National Assembly for allegedly preventing lawmakers from entering the parliamentary compound on December 3, 2024, to vote on lifting the martial law decree.
